Melody Bear gets ready for her show

Melody Bear prepares for her show with the Jill Bridger School of Dance.

Tell us about your show, Melody Bear.

"This year I am travelling the world to find the lost Christmas stars. On my journey I meet Russian, Japanese and Spanish dancers. But where are the stars? 'Open sesame' call out the Arabian Princesses and the missing stars spin, sparkle and twinkle out of the cave," says Melody Bear.

Over 100 preschool students, helped by the senior chorus, at the Jill Bridger School of Dance are performing on Sunday 12 December at the new Swavesey College Performance Hall in Cambridge.

Thank you to http://www.ids.co.uk/ for their help with the great costumes and props.

Good luck Melody Bear!

Melody Bear has a visitor

Melody Bear is delighted that Gerrard from 'Childcare is Fun' is visiting the Melody Bear HQ in St Ives, Cambridgeshire this week and joining in dancing classes with Jill Bridger, the author and creator of Melody Bear and the Melody Movement Early Learning dance programme.

Gerrard is a small furry faced bear who is travelling around the UK looking for new friends and exciting adventures. He had a lovely time on Wednesday joining Melody Bear at the Jill Bridger School of Dance and dancing with her Melody Movement children. Gerrard loved the special Christmas routines and laughed at Melody Bear when the dancers covered her in tinsel! He thought the dancers were very graceful as snowflakes and very clever to gallop so high whilst pretending to be reindeers.

After the preschool Melody Movement class, Gerrard enjoyed watching the Melody Bear Foundation Ballet Graduation Ceremony and clapped very hard as each child was awarded a certificate. Jill Bridger told Gerrard that 100 children aged 5 to 6 are graduating from the Melody Bear Foundation ballet classes and moving up to the school's Junior Ballet classes in January. Gerrard even tried the RAD Grade 3 class at the end of the evening. He found that class a bit tricky!

On Thursday Gerrard joined the team in the Melody Bear HQ offices. It was very hectic with the phone ringing all day, but he tried very hard to help everybody. Jill Bridger's Melody Movement syllabus is taught across the UK and overseas and the office is always busy. In the afternoon Gerrard joined Jill and Melody Bear as they dashed off to teach the First Ballet with Melody Bear classes. These were his favourite so far as he loved watching the dancers act out the Melody Bear Ballet song. When they danced the Cinderella dance he joined in with everyone counting up to twelve, very loudly, as the clock chimed at Cinderella's ball.

Today Gerrard is going to help Melody Bear get the costumes ready for her big show this weekend called 'Christmas with Melody Bear'. The preschool Melody Movement children at the Jill Bridger School of Dance are telling the story of Melody Bear's search across the world for the missing Christmas Stars.

Gerrard says he is missing his family at Childcare is Fun, but having a lovely time with Melody Bear. For more information visit: http://www.childcareisfun.co.uk/ Childcare if Fun has lots of information and advice for child-carers, parents and parents-to-be.
